Sometimes there’s just one tiny feature that turns a ground from the mundane to the brilliant and Carmarthen Town of the Welsh Premier League have just that.
In terms of structure there’s really the one stand. A couple of places for shelter dotted around, and a weird TV gantry opposite the single stand. So why am I scoring it so highly? Their club shop.
Take a bloody look at that! For no apparent reason, it’s done up like a ghetto blaster and is quite simply magnificent. Is it worth driving to Wales for? You betcha.
The only negative I can really find is that access around the ground on a non-matchday is a bit iffy, but all of my pics are taken from outside, barring the club shop which I stole from the internet but is still visible.
So for one reason, and one reason alone, Richmond Park scores very highly indeed.
