Iodine Park (Millhead)

Perfect, perfect, perfect. If last week’s blog seemed a little mundane, then this is exactly the sort of thing we’re looking for.

It scores perfectly in just about every department too.  It’s delightfully daft, wedged into the site of a former quarry, meaning one goal backs onto a cliff side. Brilliant.

The cliff also has a target painted behind one of the goals as well, which was almost a touch too quirky for me, but I’ll let it slide. It’s easily accessible, meaning you’ll be able to visit and see everything whenever you like, and you can even perch yourself high on the cliff for a bird’s eye view.

A little stand completes this ground perfectly, meaning it scores absolute full marks for me. I can’t think of anything it’s missing and although it’s no Tinto Park, it’s right in the upper echelons of grounds I’ve visited so far.
