Pervis Park (Percy Main Amateurs)

I’m not sure I’ve ever visited a football ground in more different guises than this, barring, most likely, the Stadium Of Light. I once ran the line here back in my refereeing days, visited to interview someone as part of my dissertation and have also attended as a spectator.

And, a couple of months ago, I found myself visiting as a comedian performing at the adjoining cricket club. As far as I’m aware, they share a clubhouse. I can’t think of a ground that I’ve had more reasons to visit on seperate occasions.

Truth be told, there’s barely anything to see. Indeed, on these photographs there’s virtually nothing. So I’ve nicked a few images from Google Maps again, which show it’s perfectly visible during the day.

A couple of dugouts and some sheltered standing is all that’s really here, but I visited and I look forward to returning in future for another entirely different reason.

Woodhorn Lane Update
Well there’s some cladding gone up on the outside of the stand. It looks like wood, although not massively impressive at the moment. Maybe it’ll be more striking when it’s dry, or when it’s not largely hidden behind scaffolding.
